Job Description: Android Application Developer

Position: Part-time remote

Job Overview: We are seeking a talented Android Application Developer to join our remote team at VerTalents.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in a startup or team-based environment, with a strong preference for candidates with 10+ years of experience for senior roles. A deep understanding of Kotlin and Jetpack Compose is essential.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
    Build intuitive, efficient, and scalable features while ensuring adherence to Android best practices and Material Design guidelines. Participate actively in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to deliver robust features on schedule. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Develop thorough unit and integration tests; participate in peer code reviews to ensure code quality, security, and performance.
  • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs

Qualifications: Experience:

Minimum Requirement:

  • 2+ years of Android application development experience in a startup or collaborative team environment.

Preferred:

  • 10+ years of experience delivering robust Android applications, ideally in senior roles with proven leadership in technical development.

Technical Expertise:

  • Proficient in Kotlin programming with deep experience in Jetpack
  • Sound knowledge of the Android SDK, application lifecycle, and Android Studio.
  • Familiar with architectural patterns (eg, MVVM, MVI) and modern development practices (RESTful APIs, Git version control, CI/CD pipelines).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in a fully remote, agile environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality software.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing tasks independently in a remote setting.
  • Client communications could also be required in the future.

Education:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
